The 2008-2009 Virginia Readers’ Choice program will end on April 1. Don’t forget to fill out your reading logs in the library so we know to invite you to the celebration!!

We just received an order of brand new books in the library! Come take at look at our New Arrivals display in the library!

The prescreening for the Percy Jackson Mythology Bee will be on Friday, March 27 at 2:30 PM in the library. The Top 10 contestants will get to compete in the school-wide Mythology Bee on Friday, April 17. Please pick up more information in the library!

Here is the break-down of our Book Club book choices for this year:
January 15 – Diary of a Wimpy Kid – Jeff Kinney
February 12 – The Lightning Thief – Rick Riordian (or as far as you can get in this series)
March 12 – Student Choice
April 9 – 39 Clues – Rick Riordian
May 14 – Student Choice

The Scholastic Book Fair is here! It will be open in the mornings from 7:45 AM – 8:30 AM and the afternoons from 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM through December 11. On December 11 we will be open until 7:00 PM. Bring your family to the book fair and enjoy the choral concert after the book fair!!

We just placed three BIG book orders! Included on that order are many of your suggestions from the consideration list in the library. We can look forward to seeing these books in February. We are SO excited!!!

Our next book club book choice is Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney! We will be meeting on a Thursday afternoon in January to talk about this very fun and funny book. We will have treats and goodies to eat! See Mrs. Spisak or Mrs. Branyon if you would like to join!

Mrs. Branyon reports that the first book club meeting was a huge success!!  The food, discussion and company were incredible! We are looking forward to selecting the next book. It’s never too late to join!  See Mrs. Branyon or Mrs. Spisak for details!

Our book club has selected its November read! We will be reading Tiger by Jeff Stone, the first book in The Five Ancestors series!

We have also decided to move our meetings to Thursdays after school. We meet once a month. See Mrs. Spisak or Mrs. Branyon if you would like to join us!
